Phase 03
Phase 3 involves two components: a PBL unit I designed for my partner Dave based on his funds of identity, and the lesson Dave designed for me based on mine. Both units demonstrate project-based learning principles grounded in critical pedagogy and culturally responsive teaching.
My Lesson Plan for Dave
A project-based learning unit designed for first year college students based on The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Students map their own Personal Legend, give voice to the people placed in their path, and explore their cultural roots through a three-layer reflective project.
Dave's Lesson Plan for Me
A middle school visual arts unit designed around composition principles (unity, balance, pattern, and proportion) and students' funds of identity, culminating in a community art exhibition.
